Ockap Caviar & Cuisine opened at 1060 Brickell Avenue less than four months ago and centers its concept on Ossetra roe in every course. It developed its menu with the Paris consultancy behind Alain Ducasse's kitchens and offers a $95 Miami Spice Reserve menu alongside regular tasting menus that start at $160.
Miami Spice closes its 25th anniversary season on September 30. The different ways new restaurants are participating offer one lens on where to eat over the next three weeks.
A Twenty-Five-Year-Old Program Learns a New Trick
Miami Spice was built after 9/11 to fill restaurants during the county's slowest two months, and it has run on the same logic ever since: fixed-price menus, three courses, discounted enough to pull diners in during August and September. This year's tiers are $40 for lunch or brunch, $50 or $65 for dinner, and a new top tier called Miami Spice Reserve, priced at $95 and up, aimed at kitchens that don't normally discount at all.
Ockap sits in that Reserve tier. Its $95 three-course menu is separate from the regular tasting menus, priced at $160 for five courses or $205 for seven. The restaurant also sells its caviar label by the tin, from 28 grams up to a full kilogram. The Reserve menu ends the same day the full-price version becomes the only option.
Amazonico Miami and Tin Tin both joined Miami Spice for the first time this year, and both restaurants also appear on Resy's September Hit List. The two established names are part of the program during its closing weeks, alongside newer participants such as Ockap.

Recent Miami openings and relocations have taken different approaches to Miami Spice. Ockap joined the program; the other restaurants in the table did not.

Pho Nam, from the team behind downtown favorite Tâm Tâm, opened its grand opening on September 3 serving Saigon-style pho and Vietnamese coffee with no prix fixe attached. Storia, the Italian osteria that opened in Upper Buena Vista in August from restaurateur Andrea Fraquelli and chef Giulio Rossi, the pair behind Cotoletta and San Lorenzo, went straight to full pricing in a neighborhood that doesn't have much competing Italian. Miami Slice finally opened its long-awaited storefront off Main Highway in Coconut Grove, selling pizza by the slice, the kind of format where a fixed-price dinner menu would be beside the point. Casa Rassi turned a South Beach coffee pop-up into a permanent counter. Giotto Maestro della Pizza relocated its family-run pizza operation downtown without changing how it prices a pie.

Planning Around the Last Week of September
Here's the part that actually changes how you should plan the next three weeks. Hispanic Heritage Month runs September 15 through October 15 across Miami, and its highest-profile event lands directly on top of Spice's final days. Buena Vista Social Club, the Tony and Grammy-winning musical, opens Broadway in Miami's 2026-27 season at the Adrienne Arsht Center from September 29 through October 4, timed specifically to the observance.
The final week of Spice, September 24 through 30, overlaps with opening week for one of downtown's biggest ticketed cultural events of the fall, placing both on the calendar for downtown and Brickell diners.
What This Means for the Next Three Weeks
If you've been meaning to try Ockap's caviar-and-fried-chicken pairing at the $95 Reserve price, book a weeknight now rather than wait for the final weekend, both because Reserve tables are limited and because the event schedule may affect your plans near downtown. Pho Nam, Storia, and Miami Slice don't carry that same time pressure since they were never part of the Spice calendar and aren't facing an October price jump, so there's no rush beyond normal new-restaurant curiosity.
For anyone who eats out in this city regularly, comparing which new restaurants join Spice and which do not can help show the range of dining options. Participating restaurants offer a fixed-price menu during the season; restaurants outside the program are not part of that offer.
